The Ayrshire is of course, a rural setting. This means that when you get away from it all, you also get a bit of a break from your cell phone! We live right on the edge of cell service and we would encourage you to embrace the opportunity to not bring any work along with you and to unplug for the weekend. In fact, on site massages for the wedding couple might be a great addition to your plans. Ask us about this option when you contact us!
We often have wildlife pass through. You will likely see wild turkeys but you may also see deer and elk. The Ayrshire offers fantastic star gazing opportunities as we have very little light pollution and a vast expanse of open sky!
Children are very welcome, but only the two legged kind. Please make other arrangements for any four legged family members as we do not allow dogs at the farm.
The Ayrshire is still a small scale working farm. Our hay is harvested weather permitting, anytime between middle of June and middle of July. If you or any of your guests suffer from hay allergies, we would suggest choosing a time outside of haying season.
Remember that the barn is over 100 years old and the hay loft remains in its original form, including gaps in the floor boards.
NOTE: At The Ayrshire we have a no-smoking policy anywhere near the barn or on the property - except for the designated smoking area provided. This policy is strictly enforced.
Covid19: The Ayrshire will be taking guidance from the BC Centre for Disease Control.
